The inside of the Khangah is, for a hospital, rather beautifully decorated. The slim windows are covered with delicate grills of beautiful patterns, the archways between wards are decorated in tiles of many colors. The institution is full of rooms – a wing of dormitories, a dining hall, offices, and of course the mosque proper. It does feel a little strange, of course, the weird atmosphere of a place where the insane reside – anticipation that some loony might come around the corner.
