"I have traveled to the East, in my youth, as well I had a very dear friend here in Cairo who hailed from the area. Sometimes I long to see its vast greatness once again."

"I'll think that I will buy this one."

Jaladhi says holding up the emerald broach.

"What is its price?"

He looks at it quickly, "Forty-five," he says without hesitation.

"Yes, the East does sometimes call to my heart, though I must admit being here in Cairo does sate some of those desires as much of the East comes here."

"Being from the east I find that I long to see the west. And there is much of the west here as well. Forty-five?"

He asked slightly confused.

"I am unsure of the coin system used here. Did you mean gold or silver?"

"Gold, of course."

"Do you prefer to barter with something you might possess in lieu of coin?"

"I have the gold, my good sir. It is just that I have many other coins as well and I wished to make certain that I paid with the correct ones."

Jaladhi responds in a gently chastising tone. He reaches into his robe and pulls out a bag from which he counts out forty-five gold coins and hands them to the Marquis.

He takes the coins without fanfare and hands over the purchased merchandise. "May you find your greatest fortune in their beauty."

"Is there anything else I can help, my Lord with?"

"No, my good sir, I am afraid that I am overdue for an appointment and I will have to take my leave of you."

He says with a bit of remorse present in voice.

"Though I would wish to see your shop again soon."

"You are welcome, my Lord. We look forward to your return."

He smiles and offers to walk him out of the shop.

Jaladhi accepts his offer with a friendly smile.

"May the sun shine brightly upon you for the rest of your days, good sir."

He smiles ironically at the praise and melts back into the shop without an additional word.
