The Citadel of Cairo : East Wing
The seat of Government for Cairo, and all of Egypt. Though government works stops at sunset, candles can be seen flickering in some windows long after the moon has risen.

Named after the great philosopher, scientist, and theologian, this library is home to thousands of scrolls and books.

The Khangah of Amir Sanjar al Gawly
This is a mental institution/mosque, founded in the 1300s and still running. It is a giant stone structure, full of rooms and hallways. There is a mausoleum under it.

The Carnival
Ramshackle tents, poorly built wooden huts, and wagons doubling as stages can be found here. There are games of chance, exotic animals, and alluring performances. You will leave with a sense of wonder, and a missing coin purse.

The Streets of the Slums
It is along the outskirts of the city and in small pockets within that the poorest residents of Cairo make their home. Along these streets the buildings are so deteriorating it is a wonder people can even live here. Not lit by any lamp or torch, these streets remain pitch black during at night.
